Aviation Minister, Osita Chidoka has commissioned the aviation tele-presence conference equipment at the Ministry of Aviation, Abuja.
The equipment is aimed at improving the correspondences between the ministry s head office and the Chief Executive Officers of the parastatal of the Ministry.
While commissioning the equipment, Chidoka said that it would help the ministry to leverage on ICT and to enhance delivery of effective and efficient service within the Ministry and its agencies, adding that it was what necessitated the idea of the tele-presence equipment.
According to him, the tele-presence device will allow the Minister, permanent secretary, and directors of the ministry to sit in the comfort of their offices and hold meetings with the chief executives of the ministry s agencies across the country, thereby reducing the rate of travelling for meetings.
Chidoka further expressed the hope that the next aviation minister will be ICT compliant and will continue with the project of building one aviation house that will improve efficiently in the running of the industry.
Demonstrating the workability of the tele-presence equipment, the Minister held a brief meeting with the CEOs of the agencies and Lagos office.
Chief Executive Officers of all the agencies expressed their readiness for the security audit that is coming up between 1st and 9th of June, 2015 by International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) with Lagos office expressing optimism that Nigeria will be successful.
The minister also disclosed that WI-FI Services will be commissioned in Lagos soon to enable passengers to log in with their computers and perform their transactions easily while on transit at the airports.
He added that the Wi-Fi opportunity will be across the airports of the nation. To bring our airports services to that of global standard.
He said with this, he would be handing over a robust aviation Ministry that would have to be built on by successive administrations. 相关的主题文章:
