According to the experts, salty fast-food takeaways are best matched with crisp, refreshing whites, gutsy and bold red wines work particular well with barbecued foods, and juicy fruit wines will cool you down after a fiery Indian takeout.
From Pad Thai and butter chicken to BBQ wings, pizza and even Burger King, here are our top wine and takeout pairings.
McDonald’s Quarter Pounder with Cheese
Drink with: Freedom Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 (£9; M S)
A classic full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon from California packed with plum and black cherry flavours and notes of pepper, coffee and sweet herbs. This easy-going Californian red is perfect with burgers.

Sweet and sour pork
Drink with: Lo Abarca Riesling 2013 (£10; M S)
An expressive dry Riesling with lime and jasmine flower aromas over a rich, tinglingly crisp palate with mineral flourishes. This wine is perfect when chilled and paired with sweet and sour dishes. The wine will continue to develop for another three years.
KFC Original recipe chicken
Drink with: Atlas Grillo (£4.97; Asda)
This Sicillian sunshine and Grillo grape refreshment makes for a tasty match against the saltiness of delicious fried chicken.

Try pairing your KFC fried chicken (left) with a Sicilian Grillo grape (left)
Pad Thai
Drink with: 2015 Dolphin Bay Chenin Blanc 2015 (£6; M S)
This deliciously crisp, dry white wine delivers gentle aromas of apples and lime combined with flavours of peach and herbs. It also works as a match or lightly flavoured dishes such as chicken and mango salad.
You can also have it with a sumptuous full-bodied Pinot Noir such as the 2012 Clocktower Pinot Noir 2012 (£14; M S), with seductive wild berry and cherry aromas over a smooth, complex palate. This wine also works as a complement to roast duck and spiced lamb tagine.

Fish and chips (left)  should be accompanied with light fizz whilst chicken wings (right) work with a red wine
Honey Chicken
Drink with: Atlas Feateasca Regala (£4.97, Asda)
Fabulously perfumed and not too dry, this fantastically fruity white from Romania is a great accompaniment to sticky, honey dishes.
Butter Chicken
Drink with: The Gum Pinot Grigio 2014 (£10; M S)
A beautifully structured dry Pinot Grigio with flavours of pear, rosewater and ripe peach with hints of lemon and lime. This wine is a wonderful match with butter chicken. You can also drink it with roast pork or spicy prawns. Serve lightly chilled.

Match Pad Thai noodles (left) with a sumptuous, full-bodied red such as the Clocktower Pinot Noir (right)
Fish Chips
Drink with: Casa Luis cava Brut (£5, Asda)
Fish and chips should be accompanied with light fizz, and this crisp and refreshing sparkler from coastal Catalonia is pretty much spot on.
Avocado crab maki
Drink with: Atlas Marsanne (£5.47; Asda)
Smooth and lively, a taste of Southern French loveliness to match the creamy flavours of avocado and crab.

Creamy-flavoured sushi such as this avocado crab maki (left) is excellently matched with a Marsanne (right)
Burger King Original Chicken Sandwich
Drink with: Atlas Roussillon (£5.47, Asda)
An amazingly fruity red from the South of France which allows the flavours of the sandwich to speak for themselves.
BBQ Chicken Wings
Drink with: Atlas Cigales (£5.97, Asda)
A gutsy red from Spain with bags of flavour to match the most blackbuster of barbecues.

Enjoy your Burger King Original Chicken Sandwich (left) with fruity red Atlas Roussillon (right)
Chicken Tikka Masala
Drink with: Atlas Marzemino (£5.97, Asda)
Curry demands a wine which bursts with juicy fruit flavour, and here’s a chillable red from Northern Italy that will cool the heat of the dish.
Hawaiian Pizza
Drink with: Atlas Catarrato (£4.97; Asda)
From the warm, sunny climate of Sicily this gorgeously spicy little number combines perfectly with the fruity flavours of the pizza.

Perfect pairing: Butter chicken (left) and a dry Pinot Grigio with flavours of pear and rosewater (right)
Prawn tempura
Drink with: Atlas Cotes de Thau (£4.97; Asda)
This delicate and sea-inspired white from the South of France matches perfectly with the wonderfully light flavours of a prawn tempura.
Carbonara
Drink with: 2013 Le Fleuve Bleu blanc(£5.75; M S)
This is an easy-drinking style of white wine which would complement spaghetti alla carbonara with a leafy salad. A luscious and refreshing white wine with bright flavours of peach and red apple and a lingering finish.相关的主题文章:
