MONROE, Wash. (AP) -- Investigators say they recovered a gun at the scene where a Snohomish County sheriff's deputy shot and killed a man just outside Monroe.Authorities said in a news release that deputies responded to the report around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, and moments after finding the man, the deputy reported that shots had been fired.Officer Aaron Snell, an Everett police spokesman, says the weapon recovered was not the deputy's service weapon and presumably had been in the possession of the man who was shot.The deputy is 31 and joined the sheriff's office in 2007. He was not injured.The man who was shot was described as being in his 60s.A team of detectives from Snohomish County law enforcement agencies is investigating. Copyright The Associated Press.
