And that’s what leads to my conclusion that, despite all that wheelspining promise, the Focus ST is not my favourite Ford. Indeed,
http://www.myfishcasting.com/ucp.php?Billige-FC-Barcelona-Fodboldtrojer-Born-Hjemmebanesaet%25C2%25A0-2014-2015.html, it’s not even the best Focus or Ford’s best ST product. Take the “boost” out of the equation, for instance, and you can achieve fairly good fuel economy in a Focus. A Plain Jane, not a turbocharger or Pirelli to be seen,
http://www.basisch-kochen.de/wp-title.php?Rabatte, 2015 Focus SE,
http://www.fabat.no/time.asp?engelsk-premier-league, similarly hatch-backed so the aerodynamics were all but identical, averaged barely over 7 L/100 km over the same period and in back-to-back testing even out fuel-economied the much-ballyhooed 1.0-litre three-cylinder EcoBoost engine available exclusively in the SE sedan. To be sure, the 2.0L’s 160 horsepower couldn t hold a candle to the ST’s 252. And its 146 pound-feet of torque were even more wanting in comparison, the poor dear feeling positively geriatric to the youthful vim and vigor of the ST. But, the SE hatchback costs but $18,
http://www.fodig.de/plugins.php?teamsport/jako-attack-2-0-trainingshose-schwarz-f08.html,849 ($22,699 as-tested) while the ST starts at $29,
http://www.bonus-invest.no/morud.asp?celtic-24,999, and my tester rang in at semi wallet-busting $33,249.
“Wow, have you ever missed the point, Dave,” I can hear all you horsepower addicts frothing, “comparing Ford’s hottest hatch to a mere grocery-getter. For shame!”
But here’s the thing. The Focus ST, for all its laudable performance and comely good looks,
http://miamibritish.com/sidebar.php?flamengo-c-1_53.html, is not Ford’s hottest hatch; that honour belongs to the . Yup, the lowly Fiesta. Comical no more, the Fiesta, at least in ST guise, is the best performance hatch in Ford’s lineup. Hell, it may be the sportiest hatchback sold in North America.

It handles a delight, tossing its chassis into bends an unadulterated lesson in controllability. Grip is prodigious, its 197 horses (from just 1.6 litres) is not to be sneezed at and the steering as direct as anything this side of a Ferrari 458. Most magical, however, is the chassis’ balance, both speed-scrubbing understeer and tail-wagging, corner-exit-sharpening oversteer but a throttle stab away. I really can’t think of a front-driver that slides its arse end quite so controllably as the pint-sized ST. The vroomed-up Fiesta is the most fun one can have on a racetrack this side of a Lamborghini Aventador, all for the wallet-sparing sum of $24,949.
And therein lies the Focus ST’s quandary. Driven in isolation, it’s a good’un, proof that Ford hasn t forgotten its performance heritage and a well-built,
http://medyamagazine.com/wp-app.php?waterproof-replica-rolex/, extremely comely roustabout by anyone’s measure. But there are better Fords for specific purposes, the base SE model, not nearly as fun, making far more economical sense and the Fiesta ST having its measure — except in outright power and rear seat legroom — as a sports car. Indeed, I’d even go as far as to say that the Focus ST is the second-best hot hatch in the land. Unfortunately for Ford dealers looking to move more Foci, the very best of the breed costs about five grand less and is probably less than 10 feet away on the showroom floor.
