The Archbishop of Diocese of Niger Delta North, Most Rev. Ignatius Kattey, has said there was need for Rivers State Governor, Hon. This came as Wike vowed to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to exercise the mandate given to him to govern the state.

Kattey advised Wike not to abandon God, emphasising that he should realise that he was governor of Rivers state, not party or religion.

Speaking further, Kattey, whose theme of sermon was Praise God , told Wike to be appreciative of God s faithfulness by emerging victorious at the last gubernatorial election in the state, maintaining that if it was not the will God, he would have failed.
The archbishop advised Wike to be grateful to God for the victory of PDP in the state, stating that he might not have known his fate if the party had not won the governorship in Rivers State.

He said there was no truth in the rumour that he planned to defect to the APC.

Exchanging views with journalists after the service at the St. Paul s Anglican Cathedral in Port Harcourt yesterday, Wike said as a committed party man he would diligently execute programmes contained in the PDP manifesto.
