It's a beautiful elevated railway converted into a park in the heart of Manhattan.
And Susan Sarandon was among a host of New Yorkers and others who turned up at the High Line Spring Benefit at Pier 36 on Wednesday evening to support the remarkable open space.
Looking years younger than 68, the actress showed off her still youthful figure in a fitted, knee-length little black dress with cheeky cut outs across her chest, adding just the right amount of naughty to nice.

She accessorised with a shiny black clutchbag and wore black and white peep toe sandals.

The High Line was built in 1934 as an elevated rail line for freight trains that previously ran along the city's streets. The last train ran in 1980 and plans were made to demolish the structure.
Friends Of The Highline saved it and began work to turn a 1.45-mile section into a public park in 2006. It is now one of New York City's premiere destinations for tourists and locals alike.
