ROCKVILLE, Md. (WNEW/AP) — Rescue crews in Montgomery County are helping some motorists who became stuck after heavy rains.
Montgomery County fire department spokesman Pete Piringer says crews have helped or are helping more than half a dozen people who became stranded in their cars, apparently as a result of flash flooding Tuesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for parts of D.C., Baltimore, Montgomery, Prince George s, Howard, Anne Arundel and Baltimore counties until 4:45 p.m. The warning extends to parts of Prince George s and Anne Arundel counties until 5:30 p.m.
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for the rest of the D.C.-Baltimore area through late Tuesday night.

Piringer says heavy rains caused localized flooding. He says officials recommend motorists don t try to drive through moving water.
Laurel spokeswoman Audrey Barnes says there are several areas flooded in the city and numerous roads are closed.
