COMMENTEMAILMOREThe new hotel recently became certified in Delaware's Green Lodging Program by implementing conservation and pollution-prevention practices.
The $40 million, 180-room hotel next to the Chase Center on the Riverfront is the 24th lodging and hospitality to earn certification under the 8-year-old voluntary program jointly sponsored by DNREC and the Delaware Hotel Lodging Association.
The self-certifying program is designed to get hotels and motels to be more energy-efficient, reduce energy consumption, increase water conservation and use recycled and eco-friendly materials in construction and daily operation.
Best practices required for Green Lodging certification include using biodegradable laundry detergents,england trikot bestellen, implementing recycling programs,chelsea champions league trikot 2012, installing LED light bulbs, using low flow faucet and shower heads, purchasing efficient appliances and serving locally grown and organic produce, among others.
Facilities that meet the requirements receive a certificate and window decals, and can display the Delaware Green Lodging logo on their marketing materials.

The hotel also was certified as a Leadership in Energy Environmental Design (LEED) Silver-rated building before opening in 2014.
