Among the details erased from the report is the number of illegal migrants sneaking into Britain on Eurostar trains from Brussels.
The so-called ‘Lille loophole’ allows migrants to stay on the train through France without showing any documentation because they are in the EU’s free travel zone, and then arrive at St Pancras to claim asylum.
Other passages were blacked out in sections dealing with concerns over staff shortages at Britain’s main immigration posts in Calais.
In June he told MPs that officials did not know the true scale of the problem of sham marriages in the UK and that it represented ‘one of the biggest potential threats to immigration control’.
He has also revealed how staff at airports were not stopping those with terrorist alerts against them on arrival and uncovered a number of serious backlogs in the immigration system.

Opposition MPs last night claimed John Vine had resigned in 'frustration' at attempts by Home Secretary Theresa May (pictured) to ‘manipulate’ his work
These included the 2012 revelation that the Home Office had a ‘migration refusal pool’ – people whose temporary or permanent migration application had been refused but whose whereabouts were unknown to the authorities
In November 2012 he accused the UK Border Agency of supplying inaccurate information to MPs about the backlog of asylum cases.
Mr Vine said the Home Office’s meddling in the publication of his reports was not the reason he had resigned, but he had ‘raised my concerns with the change in publication processes with the home secretary and the Home Affairs Committee’.
David Hanson, Labour’s immigration spokesman, said it was ‘a real shame that the Home Secretary’s increasing manipulation of the release of his reports to try to hide her failures has clearly led to his frustration and ultimately resignation from the role’.
He added: ‘John Vine’s reports highlighted flaws in the Home Secretary’s immigration regime and instead of rectifying them she sought to increasingly hold back his recommendations.’
Keith Vaz, chairman of the home affairs select committee, said he was ‘surprised and disappointed’ by the announcement.
He added: ‘John Vine turned the Inspector of Borders and Immigration into a first class organisation and did outstanding work in holding to account those who manage our borders.
‘When Mr Vine last appeared before the committee we were very concerned about the number of reports that he had produced which had not been published by the Home Office. All of these must be released immediately.’
Home Secretary Theresa May said: ‘I would like to thank John Vine for his hard work and dedication in scrutinising the vital work of controlling immigration and protecting Britain’s borders.’
