On the heels of a back injury that held him out for the Masters and the U.S. Open, suffered yet another back injury that forced him to withdraw from the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday.
The PGA Tour's official account reported the news on Twitter:

Prior to Sunday, Woods was playing well, though he wasn't in contention. Following a two-under 68 on Thursday, Woods finished with a 71 and 72 on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
The 14-time major winner commented on the injury, per Sobel:

This is the second time this year that Woods has withdrawn from a tournament during the final round. After his back surgery on March 31, the 38-year-old missed the cut at Congressional and finished 69th at the British Open after narrowly making the cut at Royal Liverpool.
There is no word on the severity of the injury. After withdrawing from the Bridgestone tournament, Woods hasn't announced his intentions for playing in the PGA Championship,

Woods has also been hoping for a spot on the Ryder Cup team, but he could remain on the outside looking in after this injury. While the golf world was rejoicing his return just weeks ago, his future is once again uncertain at this point.
