Kevin Johnson's gotten off to a good start as a Houston Texan. Kevin Johnson has made a good impression.
Bill O'Brien, spoke highly of the Texans' first-rounder based on what he saw the corner do on the field in the three-day minicamp two weekends ago.
"This is a guy that's a very quick guy," O'Brien said on a season ticket town hall conference call. "He's a tall guy. He's a guy that has really good transition ability. He's got what I call really good recover transition. If he's getting beat, he can stick his foot in the ground and really make up a lot of ground."
The former Wake Forest defensive back said during that first week as a professional that he was focused primarily on attention to detail, on and off the field.
"From the training room to the classroom to the film study, everything is just more detailed," Johnson said. "I’m just trying to take it all in and use everything around here and just try and get better.”
And O'Brien's noticed.
"He's a very bright player," O'Brien said. "If you ask him questions in the morning meeting, he really has obviously studied the night before. He's working out on his own and doing things to help stay up on material that's being installed."
Since the minicamp, the rookies have been working and working out, at NRG Stadium. On Tuesday they'll get to hit the field with veterans for the first time, as the 2015 OTAs will begin at the Houston Methodist Training Center. While Johnson's impressed in limited time in Houston, O'Brien said the more critical time to do so, is on the horizon.
"Now he's got to go out there and do it, especially in training camp when pads are on," O'Brien said. "At this point we're really happy with him."
We'll find out more next week.相关的主题文章:
