House Speaker John Boehner tapped David Blom, president and chief executive officer of OhioHealth in Columbus, to be one of 15 members of a new commission that hopes to devise ideas on improving access to health care for veterans throughout the country.
The new commission was the product of a $16.3 billion overhaul of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. President Barack Obama will name three members to the panel while the four leaders of the Senate and House -- Boehner, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.; Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., get to name three members each.
Republicans Pat Tiberi of Genoa Township and Steve Stivers of Upper Arlington joined Democrat Joyce Beatty of Jefferson Township in supporting Boehner s choice of Blom, with Tiberi saying David s nearly 30 years of experience in hospital administration at a large integrated health system like OhioHealth and his personal knowledge of the interaction between the VA Health Administration and the private healthcare system uniquely qualifies him to serve on the commission. /p相关的主题文章：
