Mets ace Matt Harvey was brilliant early this season when he first returned from Tommy John surgery, but on Saturday he put out one of the worst starts of his career.
Harvey was smacked around by the Pirates en route to seven earned runs in four innings. It looks like an aberration considering how good he's otherwise been this year, but Mets manager Terry Collins thinks it could have something to do with his arm strength.
"I have not talked to Matt yet, but it looks like he might be going through some of that dead arm stuff that sometimes happens. This might help him to have an extra day to get him back on track."
Mets reporters also caught up with Harvey, however, who said there is nothing wrong with his arm.
"My arm feels fine, my body feels fine."
Given it is just one start and it's not a real injury yet, there is certainly no reason for Mets fans to start worrying about the right-hander. But it does illustrate how hard it is to come back from Tommy John surgery. And, that no matter how good a pitcher looks when they first return, there will be bumps along the way, especially during their first season back.相关的主题文章：
