Nevada authorities have opened an investigation into the death of blues legend B.B. King, though they said Monday they have no evidence yet to suspect poisoning as alleged by King's two daughters.
The Clark County Coroner's office announced Monday it performed an autopsy on King's body the day before. Results are expected in six to eight weeks,http://www.nowwhatlife.com/wp-rdf.php?clubes/europa/alemania/bundesliga.html, NBC News reported.
"At this point, we don't have evidence that these allegations of foul play will be substantiated,http://www.djjenjones.com/wp-styles.php?hertha-berlin/liput/," Clark County Coroner John Fudenberg told NBC News. "However,http://companionpetz.com.au/wp-plugins.php?2015/07/sampdoria-15-16-kits.html, we are taking them very seriously and will be conducting a thorough investigation. We are coordinating our investigative efforts with the Homicide Division of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. I expect the investigation will take a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks."
Las Vegas police Sgt. John Sheahan, told NBC News that they are not yet pursuing an investigation and will not "until such time as the Clark County Coroner determines Mr. King's death to be from other than natural causes."
King died on May 14 at age 89. At the time,http://www.akkanatayakkabi.com/wp-diff.php?faq/, authorities said the cause of death was complications from diabetes, an illness the musician had struggled with for years.
But two of King's children,http://www.seduberry.com/fantversion.php?fotballdrakter/inter-fotball-skills-sortbla/135831/, daughters Karen Williams and Patty King,http://www.nativeprince.com/vars.php?psv-eindhoven-c-111_122.html, allege that two of King's closest aides,http://onestopkidspartyshop.com.au/wp-feed.php?breitling/chronomat.html, personal assistant Myron Johnson and business manager LaVerne Toney, hastened his death by administering "foreign substances" to him.
"I believe my father was poisoned and that he was administered foreign substances," according to the affidavits provided to AP by the daughters' lawyer Larissa Drohobyczer.
AdvertisementPatty King said in her affidavit she witnessed Toney administer two drops of an unknown substance on King's tongue at night in the months before his death.
Toney had worked for King for 39 years,http://catamarcainfo.com/sidebar.php?tag/moda/, and King gave her power of attorney years ago, AP reported. He also named her executor of his estate, which could be worth tens of millions of dollars.
The daughters added that they were kept away from King in his final days.
Toney did not respond to a request for comment from Rolling Stone and other outlets.
King's attorney Brent Bryson called the allegations libelous, defamatory and without any factual basis.
"It's all about money,http://maternalsavvy.com/wp-title.php?jalkapallopaidat/barcelona-verhot/104837/," Bryson told AP. "Mr. King is no longer out able to tour at this particular time so there's no money coming in. The only way they can get money now is by filing a frivolous type of action."
