The Blazers signed Frazier to a contract with an un-guaranteed second season. They'll have the benefit of seeing Frazier's play in practice, but they still have a tough decision to make: Do they use one of their 15 roster spots on Frazier next season, or cut him loose and hope for something better?
Frazier is the Blazers' third-string point guard, behind All-Star Damian Lillard and his backup Steve Blake. Blake has a player option on his contract, and according to reports, he's expected to exercise it. Unless Blake's level of play drops, Frazier is unlikely to play significant minutes without making The Leap over the summer.
A leap is possible for Frazier though: He recently won the MVP Award for the Developmental League, along with the Rookie of the Year. He averaged 16.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 9.5 assists in 41 games. D-League numbers don't typically translate to the NBA, but Frazier clearly has potential. Can he realize it in Portland?
