"He's tired," she says as she holds Chief in her lap.

Director of Urology at Children's Hospital, Dr. Joe Ortenberg, describes the challenges little Chief has already faced.
"Chief had serious problem of his kidneys," he said. "It was detected while he was still in the womb."
"So we went to Children's," says Virginia. "He stayed in Children's from November 21,http://www.tilmanngrawe.com/wp-content.php?nyheder/676-pengesagerne-gar-op, the day he was born, until January 13."
Now under her watchful eye, Chief sleeps peacefully at home. Doctors at Children's Hospital have successfully treated him for cysts and blockages in his kidneys. In his 32 years at Children's Hopsital, Ortenberg has seen amazing advances in treating babies like Chief.

After three decades at Children's, Ortenberg and other doctors are now seeing the children of parents who were once patients here themselves. Chief's mom, Virginia, is one of them.

I was about the size of a child's shoe box. I could actually fit in one. My mom used to carry me around in the  shoe box I was so small."
Of course, Virginia has grown up now, but Chief has a ways to go. His mother already knows first-hand just how good Children's Hospital really is.
