Next to it, a brown-camouflaged tank marked a tent for the National Guard.

The former Marine is the son of a Marine,http://www.umursiparis.com/wp-rdf.php?tag/transferrygter/, grandson of two more Marines, brother of an Army nurse, and father of a soldier. A visit to his sister's Army hospital in Texas inspired him to use his car – which already attracted a lot of attention – to tell people about the Wounded Warrior Project.
He travels the country collecting donations, but also pushes people to the charity's website. He pays for all gas and travel expenses out of his own pocket.
"It's a small sacrifice for major sacrifices they're making for us," Brancato said.
Even the U.S. Veterans Administration recognized the number of veterans who would be at the Coca Cola 600, and used race to reach them.
They brought one of their new mobile units to the Fan Fest and used social media to tell them to stop by and learn about benefits.
"They love the races and we love the opportunity to give them information on services they may be eligible for as well as vet center services,http://www.jurtech.dk/sidebar.php?klubber/england/wolverhampton/," said Ron Thomas,http://www.beder-traedrejeri.dk/rss.php?algeriets-landsholdstroeje-2014/, a counselor for the Vet Center in Greensboro.
He and another veteran travel with the mobile unit to anywhere they think veterans need their help. Another counselor from the VA Benefits Center in Winston-Salem is available on site to help veterans get registered.
The mobile unit includes a private counseling room, satellite communications, and even equipment to set up beds for rapid response.
Race fan Dennis Seevers, who spent 20 years in the Navy, stopped by to talk with Thomas and get information. He said counseling and benefits were not as easily available when he retired in 1995.
"There are a lot of homeless vets who don't know about this," said Seevers. He's glad to see the VA reach out to vets where they live and visit.
"It's a good thing," he said, "because word needs to get out to the vets,http://www.nidelv-hestesenter.no/back-compat.php?Liverpool-Hjemme-Drakt-2013-2014-Sahin-Autentisk, because a lot of vets don't know about things they have to offer for them."
