The 16th annual Memorial Day Tribute, including the reading of the names,http://limgclub.com/wp-plugins.php?fodtoj/nitrocharge%3Fdir%3Dasc%26order%3Dcreated_at, started at 10 a.m. at the POF Hall in downtown Denver, just south of the State Capitol.
Mayor Michael Hancock gathered with the families to honor the dead.
"Here, today we honor the lives that have been lost and celebrate their service to our country,http://www.urbanoasis.com.au/wp-searches.php?Football-shirt-blog/Page-586.html," he said.
Rebecca Rippetoe lost her brother,http://gregoreon.com/wp-content.php?udenlandsk_fodbold/, Russell Rippetoe,http://www.aaskov-mini.dk/export.php?, an Army Ranger captain,http://www.ytutanflamenca.com/wp-app.php?alfa-romeo-c-136.html, in Iraq in 2003. She is leading the movement to build a memorial to service members who died in cpmbat since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York.
"It's important to the families to not only know others remember, but that we are committed to other service members,http://www.djjenjones.com/wp-plugins.php?fodboldtroslashjer-vm-2014-fodboldtroslashjer-elfenbenskysten-bedste-332_372_384.html," Rippitoe said.
But she doesn't want Memorial Day to be filled with sadness.
"I don't necessarily want it to be a somber time, but we do need to get together and celebrate our military and remember them,http://www.argentinos.nl/wp-content.php?category/juventus-store/," she said.
Gov. John Hickenlooper talked of attending military funerals over his political career. He said he is always touched when he meets their families and sees pictures of the young service members with such full lives ahead of them.
