A 34-year-old Olympia man accused of driving under the influence on Saturday night had two young children in the car -- and one was riding in a carseat that wasn t latched into the vehicle, according to Washington State Patrol spokesman Guy Gill. A trooper initiated a traffic stop and upon contact, he observed a strong odor of intoxicants coming from (the suspect s) breath, Gill said. His eyes were watery and bloodshot, and he spoke with slurred speech. The man took field sobriety tests, and provided a roadside breath test that registered .231, Gill said. That s nearly three times the legal blood alcohol limit of .08. He has a prior DUI, warrants for his arrest from other counties, no driver s license, Gill said. He s facing new DUI charges, driving on a revoked license and two counts of reckless endangerment of a child. The man was booked into Thurston County Court, and his children, ages 3 and 4, were released to their mother, Gill said.
