DICE’s Johan Andersson, Frostbite engine technical director, has confirmed via Twitter that Ghost Games’ upcoming Need for Speed reboot is running on the same version of the Frostbite engine as the highly-anticipated Star Wars: Battlefront.

We don’t know a great deal about the new Need for Speed for now, but we do know this “full reboot” is – the series’ new home in Gothenburg, Sweden – which also developed 2013’s Need for Speed: Rivals. Need for Speed will draw on what Ghost Games considers the core pillars of the series,
