You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Lumber Company LLC and Olympia Panel Products of Shelton recently announced mill closures following asset sales to other companies. Both decisions affect more than 500 workers. Simpson will close its landmark mill in downtown Shelton and one in Dayton after it sold them to Sierra Pacific Industries of Northern California.Sierra plans to build a new mill, but it s not expected to become operational until 2017.Olympia Panel Products is expected to close its Shelton mill next year after the assets were sold to Springfield, Oregon-based Swanson Group Manufacturing LLC.
