They've played in big games together before, they feel confident in one another and are all playing really good football, coach Daley said of the Roosters quartet. They come into the game knowing how each other play and what they like to do, which is a big advantage for us to carry those combinations into the game.
Look, you're always picking the best players, but it's nice when you have a club combination. Decision making on edges is quite tough, so it helps with a combination there.
Cordner will start the match on the bench, but is expected to feature on the left edge when he comes on the field.
It definitely helps knowing how myself, Jenko and Toops defend, having that combination already, Cordner said. I think Junior [Pearce] plays on the other side but I think he'll come over our side a fair bit, I'm pretty sure. It makes it a bit more comfortable being around camp knowing you have a few players from your club with you.
Cordner was stunned not to receive a call from Daley three weeks ago when he was left out of the Australian team, as well as the Country Origin team during the representative weekend.
He's since joked about it with Ryan Hoffman, who also was left wondering where he stood after missing out on representative honours.
It was a bit of a weird experience, Cordner said. I hadn't had a weekend off in a while. I didn't get any calls. I was a bit unsure but it's all good. I didn't know what to think at the time. I was actually speaking to Hoffy, and he said the same thing. He didn't hear anything as well, so we were having a laugh about it.
Despite the Maroons knowing full well how Jennings and Tupou combine, given their time together at NRL level, Jennings insists they won't have to change their game to keep the Maroons guessing.
Me and Toops know how each other play, we know each other's game, which is good, he said. Nothing will change on how me and him play but working with 'Hoko' and the halves and the plays are going to change. But the connection between me and 'Toups' won't change.相关的主题文章:
