A few episodes of MasterChef Canada ago I began to have a sneaking suspicion that the strongest competitor in the Season 2 bunch was Surrey concrete contractor David Jorge.
The other contestants were so used to seeing him up in the gallery, not cooking but overseeing the competition from his immunity viewpoint, that they nicknamed him Armchair David.

Setting aside some of the drama of the proceedings, most of which came as David raced to the wire to finish his dessert (while Line had her hands up before the buzzer), of the two menus, David s was likely the more restaurant-oriented, which evidently scored big with the judges.

Line s dessert was also the smartest dish of the night, as per the judges. Her chocolate, pistachio and olive bread alone had Aprile drooling, begging for the recipe for his restaurant.
But again, the key to winning a season of MasterChef is consistency, and there is no way we can take that achievement away from David.
