State probing death at Oakland bus yard
(08-11) 13:40 PDT OAKLAND -- State investigators are looking into the death of a mechanic who was struck and killed by one of his company's charter buses Friday in Oakland.
On Monday, the Alameda County coroner's office identified the victim as 55-year-old Tarsem Josen.
He was hit by a bus around noon in the workshop of Charter Pros on the 700 block of 45th Avenue, said , a spokeswoman for Cal/OSHA, the state's workplace safety regulator. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cal/OSHA opened an investigation Friday and has six months to complete it, Hennessy said.
Charter Pros officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
