VIA Rail has cancelled all trains between its Toronto-Montreal and Toronto-Ottawa routes after a collision with a CN freight train near Gananoque, Ont.
The eastbound CN train,
Clubmaster Ray Ban, located about 7 kilometres east of Gananoque, hit Via Rail train #47 Friday afternoon en route from Ottawa to Toronto, Via Rail said in a press release. One minor injury was reported in the crash and 300 people were on board.
VIA says passengers aboard Toronto-Montreal and Toronto-Ottawa trains and those scheduled for trips later in the day would be bused to their destinations. Severe delays of upwards of four hours halted these routes on Friday,

VIA said these routes would resume Saturday and it plans to reimburse tickets for today’s travel,

Toronto-bound traffic from the Niagara region has been hampered by the closure of the Burlington Skyway bridge for the remainder of the long weekend after a major crash on Thursday.
