s monster movie has been set for a Sept. 19 release by A24 Films. It s his first film since 2011 s Red State.

The film stars Justin Long, Michael Parks, Genesis Rodriguez and Haley Joel Osment. are Demarest Films’ Sam Englebardt, David Greathouse and Shannon McIntosh.
Originating from one of Smith’s SModcasts, it follows a journalist (Long) who encounters a worldwide adventurer (Parks) and finds himself a plaything in the gruesome plot of a deranged killer.
Smith directed from his own script,Oakley Blades, which evolved from episode 259 of his Smodcast podcast. Smodcast Pictures produced “Red State” and the animated “Jay Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie.”
Smith will debut the trailer on July 25 at Comic-Con at a panel called “The Musk of Tusk: An Evening With Kevin Smith.”
