’s sprawling South of Market office pays colorful homage to the retailer’s 157-year history.
The website occupies six floors, plus a roof deck,

http://www.skateworld.com.au/fantversion.php?training/skills.aspx, with rooms full of programmers and creatives designing the site. The office also houses human resources, legal and other executives. Macys.com sells everything you might find in a traditional department store, including sneakers, designer clothes, makeup and furniture.
Each floor is branded by a color: red, yellow, green, blue and purple. You encounter the color as soon as you exit each elevator bank. On the yellow floor,

, principal of MSA architecture + design, said the themes are based on the history of Macy’s, which started as a brick-and-mortar shop on Sixth Avenue in New York City, added a website in 1996 and is now selling products from stores and online.
“You have a company of 100-plus years,” Pawek said. “You need to infuse different history parts of the company and how it reflects on what the programmers are doing and the tech groups are growing.”
Some of the references are subtle. On the floor of each break room,

In addition to highlighting the company’s photography and history, the colors and graphics create identity,

“We felt that our previous space wasn’t branded enough,” Cook said. “We wanted to celebrate what we do.”
Macys.com’s previous office was at 685 Market St., but it outgrew that space, which is now occupied by Uber. The Folsom Street office is still growing,

For now, the three tech floors have an open layout, and on each floor workers use a mix of spaces, from soundproof phone booths, one-on-one meeting rooms, play rooms with pingpong tables and video games, and training rooms. Room names follow themes — like old video games, state parks and Las Vegas — with each floor getting a different theme.
The views from the office are stunning. From one side,
http://www.door6.co.uk/wp-pass.php?65942.html, there’s AT T Park; from another, skyscrapers in the Financial District, with plenty of natural light throughout the day. The Macys.com building is LEED gold-certified, and angling for platinum certification,
http://www.rockpocketgames.com/layout-styles.php?nfl-baltimore-ravens-jerseys, according to Pawek. “It was important to Macy’s,” he said. “This is their opportunity to make a point that ‘Hey, we are green, we’re a green company.’”
The roof deck has a playful feel that starts in the elevator bank, which has a grass turf floor. Outside, the deck has black and white furniture, games and a giant picture of a redwood forest lining one wall. Employees can play beanbag toss or chess with an oversize set.
Macys.com leaders wanted to be close to public transportation and the city’s technology center when they chose this office, says Pawek. They landed about halfway between BART and Caltrain. “The availability of this building was unbelievable,
