In a bid to promote health and decent work,http://ginasbloomingfantasies.com/single.php?fodboldtr%25C3%25B8jer-b%25C3%25B8rn-201516-usa-Fodbold-shirts-34_106, Sterlin Bank Plc has called on every Nigerian to imbibe the culture of safety and health,http://limgclub.com/export.php?lists/equipaciones-oficiales-de-futbol-para-hombre.aspx, either in the work place or in their homes.
The call was made by the bank s Group Head, Customer Experience Service,http://dgrmarcomms.com/layout-styles.php?NFL_Jacksonville_Jaguars_Kids_T-Shirts, Mrs Titi Ogundipe, during an event to mark the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, in Lagos recently.
She said most Nigerians do not put the safety and health of their lives into consideration, especially at their work place, hence the need to create awareness on placing priority on occupational safety and health, as many people have slowly lost their lives through this neglect.
According to her, with enlightenment,http://www.greatfoodclub.co.uk/wc-script.php?Matupeco/, most Nigerians will be aware that there is health and safety act in the Nigerian constitution that is supposed to be regulating the health and safety of workers, while also protecting them,http://www.bris-skips.com.au/sidebar.php?shopping_cart.html, but unfortunately most Nigerian workers are not aware of this act.
She said with the help of the media, it would be easier for people to understand the importance of health and safety to their lives, as well as becoming aware of this act.
Ogundipe said in a bid to show example,http://bikernetblog.com/wp-config-sandbox.php?real-madrid-hjemme-troje-12-13-born, Sterlin Bank is championing the first of its kind awareness campaign through bringing together professionals as well as safety and health groups so as to chat a course towards achieving the goal of giving every Nigerian the opportunity to know as well as imbibe safety and health cultures.
She said Sterlin Bank has always made the safety and health of its workers as well as customers a priority, through the introduction of various safety and precautionary standards in the work place.
For the Group Head, Strategy and Communication, Shina Atilula,http://nuvomedia.dk/wp-rss.php?jakke-man-city-c-61_82.html, the bank s safety and health department has always made sure the bank s staff are up to speed on the various safety and health tips. We decimate safety tips via email to all our staff. The media can as well share these tips to the general public.
For the bank, some of these tips include use of nose mask for the staff who handles money. So that as they are counting money they will not be inhaling the chemicals from it. Other safety tips are also shared among the staff, he added.
He also advocated for harmonization of the different health and safety regulations in the country so that they will have one voice.

On how other Nigerian workers can be knowledgeable on various occupational safety and health tips, he said the government at the local government level should be able to organize programmes to create awareness among the citizens so that any organisation that does not take safety and health of its workers would be sanctioned.
Same goes for the state as well as the federal government. At the federal level, we are appealing to the National Assembly to sign the Occupational Health and Safety bill into law. The bill has been with them since 2008 and till now, nothing has been done about it.
In the same vein, the Executive Director, Safety Advocacy and Empowerment Foundation, Engr. Jamu Badmus said the signing of the bill into law will ensure that all the workers in the country are protected in the event of any occupational hazard.
Badmus, also emphasized that Nigerians need to create a culture where safety and health will naturally be part of them. We have to create a policy in Nigeria on safety such that even our day to day activities will be guided by such policies. If we make this our culture, it can also go as far as making it easier for the citizens to even confront any one who they see in a moving vehicle yet not using the seat belt.
This message should not be restricted to health and safety at work,http://catamarcainfo.com/wp-diff.php?futbol/B08794/valencia-h-jsy, it should as well extend to our various homes,http://tsoegaard.dk/wp-searches.php?klubhold-trojer-2014-15-263/celtic-273, because someone who follows all safety tips at work and does not do same at home can be likened to those who do not follow the tips at all because our lives are as well important either at home or at the work place,http://www.sellitnewark.co.uk/wp-db.php?privacy.html, he added.
Also lending his voice, the Chairman, Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria, Commander Timothy Nwaogu,http://www.greatfoodclub.co.uk/layout-styles.php?c/retro-shirts/1988, while commending Sterlin Bank Plc for championing the cause,http://www.tilmanngrawe.com/wp-pass.php?fodboldtr%25C3%25B8jer-b%25C3%25B8rn-201516-Fodbold-shirts-34, also recommended that other organisations take a cue from them in respect to the safety and health of their workers as well as their clients and customers.
This is the first time a corporate organization is championing a cause like this in the country. We are calling on other organizations to follow suit so that in no distance time every Nigerian will be aware of their safety and health at any particular time.
He also appealed to Sterlin Bank Plc and other banks in the country to set aside a little percentage of their profit in creating awareness on precaution and safety in the country.相关的主题文章:
