Candace Cameron Bure is defending her decision to do a five-day protein shake cleanse after backlash from her Facebook followers, .
Earlier this week, Bure posted on her Facebook account that she was excited to start her 5 day cleanse with @eatpaleta today!! She also shared that she had just had a very indulgent week in Napa.
According to Bure, she was starting a protein shake cleanse from Paleta Provisions where she would have a protein shake for breakfast and lunch, sensible snacks and a light veggie dinner for five consecutive days.
That quickly turned into a debate about the 38-year-old former Full House star s health. While some of her Facebook followers praised her decision and asked where they could get a cleanse like that for themselves, other followers told her to eat real food and not be so obsessive over food and weight. Some of her fans even called her a sellout for promoting a product.
Bure has struggled with the eating disorder, bulimia nervosa, since her marriage to Russian NHL hockey pro in 1996. So, in response to all the negative feedback from her Facebook fans, she decided to take to Facebook to defend her decision to do the five-day cleanse.
