Mecklenburg leaders debate prayer at meetings

Commissioners Vilma Leake and Pat Cotham don't see eye to eye,http://www.vincinibottier.com/layout-styles.php?shop/lesean-mccoy-25-mens-football-jersey-philadelphia-black-mccoy-limited-alternate-jersey-12608, and both have made that known publicly.

On April 7, Commissioner Vilma Leake voiced her feelings about public prayer by board members. For years the board has opened with an invocation and rotated the prayer between members.
"I thought it was required," Leake said, "Nobody said anything differently."
Leake's colleague,http://www.bris-skips.com.au/rss.php?Breitling/Chrono-c80.html, Pat Cotham, professes Catholicism, and found the comments as targeted disrespect. Cotham chooses not to pray publicly at the meetings. The two clearly have different spiritual perspectives.
"It's been uncomfortable for-- since sometime last year," Cotham told NBC Charlotte.

County leaders told the Charlotte Observer while prayer is part of the opening to meetings,http://michaelzeki.com/sidebar.php?297-fodboldtsaet-til-damer, Commissioners are not required to pray.
Both Leake and Cotham downplayed the dispute to some extent but had conflicting points.
"I'm a very spiritual person myself and I've been a Catholic my whole life, but we just do things a little differently than some of my colleagues,http://www.seduberry.com/wp-xml.php?billige-fotballdrakt-adidas-la-galaxy-leonardo-22-hjemmedrakt-2014," Cotham said.

Both commissioners tell NBC Charlotte they are committed to moving past the disagreement.
