Perhaps, the greatest threat to industrialisation of the various countries in Africa revolves round the activities of saboteurs who flood the continent with substandard products.

Apart from depriving the various governments of revenues from the sale of these manufactured products, operators of the industrial sectors in many African countries have had to shut down their industries as a result of the activities of some economic saboteaurs in the region.

It is in this regard that the Director General of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON),http://www.myfishcasting.com/search.php?fodboldstoevler/7152-ace-kollektionen/, who is also the current president of African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO),http://www.abcfilm.no/reidar.php?adidas-fotballdrakt-fc-bayern-mnchen-kvinner-hjemmedrakt-2014-2015-v-265.html, Dr. Joseph Ikem Odumodu, raised his voice last week saying African economies could be robust if the countries in the continent constitute a powerful and vital force to fight economic saboteurs.

Odumodu believed that a synergy between the various African countries could frustrate the activities of dealers of counterfeit products,http://www.nativeprince.com/wp-rdf.php?monaco-henter-porto-duo/.

The SON DG, who spoke at a press conference to announce a forum for chief executives of standard regulating agencies in Africa titled,http://rentasgastronomicas.com/wp-title.php?Detroit_Lions_Kids_Jerseys/agegroup/youth, ARSO President s forum in Abuja, slated for June 24, said over 80 per cent of sub-standard products circulating in Africa come from outside the continent, a situation which he described as quite worrisome.

The event of the ARSO President s forum for Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of National Standards Bodies (NSBs) holding from 22nd 24th June,http://www.argentinos.nl/wp-searches.php?Galatasaray-voetbalshirts-2012-2013-thuis, 2015 which is being launched today through this media briefing is meant to sensitise the world on the readiness of African standardisers to strengthen the continental integration by breaking inhibiting economic barriers through standardisation to enhance industrial and economic empowerment, Odumodu said.

The SON chief described ARSO as an inter-governmental body, established by the Organisation of African Union (OAU) in 1977 with support from the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), to primarily coordinate the issues of standardisation amongst all National Standards Bodies (NSBs) in Africa in order to promote the harmonisation of African Standards and Conformity Assessment systems; promote competitiveness of African goods and services by removing all technical barriers to trade.

He explained further that it is also meant to provide a basis for value addition on African oriented raw materials,http://www.door6.co.uk/fantversion.php?qualityinfo.html, to promote industrialisation of Africa; promote self-sustainability for the continent through intra-African trade. It is also meant to represent the continent in global issues of standardisation.

According to him,http://www.headstartfs.com.au/fantversion.php?%3Fattachment_id%3D11936, ARSO s four strategic plans 2012- 2017 includes establishing standards harmonisation systems that supports a sound regulatory framework, adding that it is to disseminate harmonised standards and guidelines to support intra,http://www.djjenjones.com/wp-styles.php?ecuador/liput/, inter African and international trade and industrialisation.

Other strategic objectives include strengthening of ARSO work management capabilities for the sustenance of the organisation and the promotion of maximum and effective participation of members and other stakeholders,http://limgclub.com/wp-walker.php?uefa-2015.
He explained that ARSO seeks to integrate the whole of Africa through Standardisation to empower the continent to look within itself for sustenance.
Standardisation is capable of breaking borders and barriers inhibiting trade and development. The giant strides being recorded by some countries,http://www.hunterpowersystems.com.au/phpinfo.php?terms-and-conditions.html, and regional economic blocks in exports to other continents are noted and laudable but could be better without the current intra-continental barriers which have continued to remain stumbling blocks even with neighbours.

Be that as it may, the current global activities in trade indicate that no country or continent can advance industrially, economically and socially, without the culture of quality and standards.

He therefore enjoined stakeholders to partner and support SON and indeed ARSO in showing the strength of Nigeria as a people,http://uniquecreatures.com.au/wp-diff.php?mens-replica-watches-collection/omega.html, to break new frontiers through standardisation.

Odumodu used the opportunity of the event to speak on SON s reengineering activities which he said involved Organisational Certification, Accredited laboratories, Secretarial Coordination of the Nigerian National Quality Policy (NNQP), adding that May 12,http://klassiksportwagen.de/layout-styles.php?Produkt/Autofahne, 2015 ground breaking ceremony for the establishment of a National Metrology Institute (NMI) are expressions of the readiness of Nigeria to break barriers.相关的主题文章:
