ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA (NEWSPLEX) -- One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash on Garth Road Monday morning.
The accident occurred on the 2900 block of Garth Road shortly after 8 a.m.
In a release, the Albemarle Police Department reports a GMC Yukon driven by 55-year-old Andrew Blackwell Middleditch of Ivy and a Chevy Lumina driven by 78-year-old Lonnie Wycliffe Branham of Earlysville collided near the entrance of Haffner Farm.
Police say both vehicles were heading east when Middleditch tried to turn left into a farm entrance. At the same time, Branham was trying to pass in a legal passing zone.
The cars collided and the Lumina overturned. Branham was declared dead at the scene.
Middleditch is being held without bond at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.
He has been charged with DUI.
Police say the crash, which is the third fatal crash in Albemarle County so far this year, is still under investigation.相关的主题文章:
