BILOXI -- More than 800 volunteers came out Saturday morning to honor the fallen by placing flags upon the 20,000 graves at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
"It's a big honor for us to be able to do this," said Jeremy England of Ocean Springs as he sat with his 15-month-old daughter, Grace, at the grave of the only Medal of Honor recipient buried at the cemetery.
Placing the Memorial Day flags is a tradition for Air Force veterans Demi and Andre Richard of Ocean Springs and their family. "We want our kids to always know what Memorial Day is about," Demi Richard said. She also visited the grave of her friend Air Force Master Sgt. Joseph Kamont, who was buried May 7.
Sandra Norris of Gulfport was at the cemetery with her son Austin.
She said several family members are buried there and her husband is retired from the Air Force.
"It's just a privilege to be doing this."相关的主题文章:
