She was at a CBD function for federal ALP presidency candidate Tim Hammond, who is backed by senior Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association members, including Ms Paul s husband, Raff Ciccone.Other candidates for the ALP presidency include former Gillard government minister Mark Butler and Andrews Government minister Jane Garrett.Ministers and MPs have this weekend been trading blows over factional power plays behind the ructions in Mr Somyurek s office. And there are concerns splits could widen if the minister is subsequently dumped from his position pending the investigation by Mr Eccles.Labor MPs said the bitter split that Mr Somyurek had led away from the SDA was causing angst behind the scenes.Mr Somyurek has since fallen out with federal MP David Feeney, whom Ms Paul used to work for, and senior members of the SDA, including secretary Michael Donovan and his right-hand man, Mr Ciccone.Tensions between senior state Labor MPs is now threatening to boil over. The MPs and party sources the Herald Sun spoke to over the weekend said the bullying matter must be handled sensitively, and most agreed Premier Daniel Andrews had no choice but to act swiftly once a formal complaint was lodged by Ms Paul.Ms Paul was not available on Sunday and was not at her Oakleigh home.Mr Ciccone arrived home on Sunday afternoon but did not respond to questions. The SDA faction leader reversed up his driveway and ducked into his home when approached by the Herald Sun.Mr Somyurek was supposed to take part in a trade mission to Asia later this week, but the Government was unable to say what would happen to the business trip.Mr Somyurek was unable to be contacted on Sunday. The Opposition is expected to hit the Government over the issue this week in Parliament.相关的主题文章:
