FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — A Madisonville first-grader is one of six students from across Kentucky to win a $1,500 college savings account.
The Dream Out Loud Challenge was sponsored by the Kentucky Education Savings Plan Trust. It invited students in grades K-6 to submit an original poem, drawing, video or essay answering the question, "How will I change the world after college?"
WBKO-TV reports ( submitted a video about her goal to cure cancer in animals. She explained that pets help people who are sick. They help the police. And they help children learn about love, responsibility and discipline.
Lillian said that a cure for cancer in animals could lead to a cure for cancer in humans. For her winning video, Lillian's school also received $500.
