CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (NEWSPLEX) -- Vinegar Hill theater has been on the market for a couple of years and finally it got scooped up.
Light House Studio, a nonprofit based in Charlottesville, has made the purchase, paying $850,000 to be able to call Vinegar Hill Theatre home.
Light House Studio offers youth the space to create and learn more about the art of filmmaking by teaching workshops and helping youth showcase their talents.
It's a perfect match the studio hopes will help expand its reach.
"We knew that it was right for us," said Deanna Gould, executive director of Light House Studio. "The location's perfect. We want to be on the Downtown Mall. It's easy access for a lot of our students, there's a built-in screening theater and we realized that the space could work for our needs and that we could put everything under one roof."
Light House Studio has raised $1 million of its $2.6 million goal.
The studio is reaching out to the community for help with the remaining renovation and preservation expenses.相关的主题文章:
