New music from frontman has made its worldwide premiere in Sydney this week, as part of an exhibition by Radiohead’s longtime collaborator and visual artist, Stanley Donwood.
As report, Thom Yorke has created a soundtrack exclusively for Donwood’s The Panic Office exhibition, which opened at Sydney’s Carriageworks yesterday, 21st May.
Yorke’s previously unreleased soundtrack is titled Subterranea, and sees ambient and experimental sounds play out over three levels of speaker systems. The sounds are reportedly not too dissimilar from Thom Yorke’s latest solo album, Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes, and even include some spoken word sections.
There are no official plans to release Subterranea after Donwood’s exhibition, and the soundtrack is supposedly different on each and every day of The Panic Office‘s residence.
Stanley Donwood: The Panic Office features thousands of original pieces from Donwood’s career, and some will even be up for sale. The exhibition can currently be viewed by Semi-Permanent ticket holders, but will be free to the public from Sunday, 24th May. The exhibition runs until 6th June.
