Watches, phones, and tablets galore are all getting fresh batches of software this week. Android 5.1.1 is on the way for various Nexus devices, while smartwatches are getting a bunch of new features thanks to the newest build of Android Wear.
With so much new software on the way, let’s get right to it. Each week we compile all the major software updates for the biggest devices, including phones and tablets on U.S. carriers, unlocked phones, and even wearables. Making sure your device is running the latest available software is a good housekeeping practice, ensuring you have the latest features with fewer bugs and gaping security holes.
NexusNexus 4, 5, 7 LTE, 9 LTE: Google’s pure Android devices are all getting bumped up to 5.1.1. An over-the-air update is on the way, or you can head to the to install it yourself. has a lot of new features like better WiFi and Bluetooth controls, and the 5.1.1 boost tackles a lot of bug fixes. 
Android WearLG G Watch, G Watch R, Asus Zenwatch: Android Wear 5.1.1 is no longer an exclusive to the LG Watch Urbane. We’re a little perplexed to not see the Moto 360 on the list—we’ll cross our fingers for that to happen soon.
