This time, it's all about a 131/2-year-old Delaware girl who was among more than 34 million Youtube viewers of the department's debut "Dashcam Confessional" video of Officer Jeff Davis lip-syncing to Taylor Swift's hit "Shake It Off."
After that video went crazy on social media, the department got "literally thousands" of messages from around the world, Hoffman said.
A police officer in France thanked Dover police for raising officers' spirits in Paris after the deadly terrorist bombing of the Charlie Hebdo magazine office.
The parents of a sick little boy wrote to say "he hadn't smiled or laughed for a week," but after he saw the "Shake It Off" video, "he hasn't stopped watching it and singing and dancing and laughing."
"Another was from a family with a terminally ill relative,http://nuvomedia.dk/wp-xml.php?category/merchandise-476/page-80.html," Hoffman said. The family said the "Shake It Off" video let their relative "have one last laugh before they passed away."
But the stand-out message – by far – was from the mother of Taylor Swift fan Victoria Marsh of Middletown, Hoffman said.

Victoria's big dream is to meet Swift and attend a concert.
It was a dream the Dover Police Department hoped to make come true, Hoffman said.
After Taylor Swift retweeted about the department's viral "Shake It Off" video, her record label sent some tickets to her upcoming Philadelphia appearances June 12 and 13, he said.
"We went to give Victoria tickets, but her doctors wouldn't release her to go because of chemotherapy and the risk of infection," Hoffman said.

The idea is to rally Taylor Swift fans to support the star meeting Victoria in person or on Facetime.
