The comedian, juggler and actor W.C. Fields once said,http://www.exclusiveworlds.co.uk/wp-app.php?mens-replica-watches-collection/tag-heuer/taghuer-carrera-red-bull-edition-mens-watch.html, "It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to." That was a long time ago,http://www.jurtech.dk/search.php?umbro-fodboldstovler/, sparing Fields the ignominy of competing for laughs with the likes of Honey Boo Boo,http://www.minuteetseconde.com/wp-content.php?fr/lists/collection-cr7.aspx, but neither his philosophizing nor the passage of time has slowed down the label machine.
In the Biloxi mayoral race,http://brandbookcloud.com/cron.php?fodtoj/mercurial-sko/mercurial-sko-ic-ronaldo, for all the talk about economic development and other lofty ideas,http://www.showbusinessreport.com/wp-rdf.php?Club-America-Aguilas-Klubi-Jalkapallo-Pelipaidat, the most important factor in the race, in some of our leaders' eyes at least,http://medyamagazine.com/wp-register.php?chrono-matic-49.html, was party label.
It got very absurd,http://limgclub.com/wp-plugins.php?fodtoj/mercurial-sko%3Fdir%3Dasc%26order%3Dprice, very quickly, but the bottom line is the labeling didn't seem to matter to those who matter most -- the voters.
And fortunately, the winner, who labeled himself a Republican before the folks in Jackson labeled him a Democrat, has a sense of humor. He saw it for what it was, a joke.
Few in the real world fit nicely in one cube or another. Most of us are more than liberal or conservative. But no one has accused politicians of living in the real world.
Take the case of President Barack Obama. He's either a successful leader who pulled the country back from the abyss or the abysmal failure who's dragging the entire country into that sulphurous pit.
Don't believe me? Ask Gallup. It continually tracks the approval rating of important people and in its most recent poll,http://cspain.dk/wp-plugins.php?fodtoj/predator, found Obama's approval rating trending upward to 53 percent. That's not bad for a fellow with horns and a spike on his tail. But that's not the good part.
Ninety percent of Democrats approve of Obama. Only 13 percent of Republicans do. Of those who identify with neither party,http://klassiksportwagen.de/sidebar.php?tag/brasilien/, the independents, 52 percent approve.
I'd love to know the TV viewing habits of the independents. I don't, but I'll go out on a limb and suggest they might not track the habits of either of the political parties.
Before my enlightenment, I watched a bit of that scream TV. That's where you pick the channel aligned with your political party and watch them scream about the other side. It's a lot of fun,http://www.jurtech.dk/Software.php?spillere/ronaldo, if you don't mind a solitary life with few friends and long, thoughtful conversations with inanimate objects.
Then,http://www.door6.co.uk/fantversion.php?categories/5_299_357.html, for reasons totally unrelated to politics, I cut the cord and lost access to not just 50 shopping channels but also the partisan food-fight networks.
Life got tough. I could get only three or four college games a week,http://www.aaskov-mini.dk/search.php?ticket2/chelsea-billetter, which was a good thing because I also was having to think for myself, which is twice as hard as the pundits told me it would be.
I haven't totally sworn off the sauce, though, and I occasionally bump into my old pals at Fox and MSNBC and they're still chattering on, most often talking about something that had never entered my mind.
